This darling reproduction teatimer outfit is made so authentically, one might easily think is was actually a vintage set from the 1950's! The 100% spun rayon fabric has a fantastic silky sheen that feels cool against the skin and the dramatic reproduction print features all manner of brightly colored fish. The top has a mandarin collar, angled patch pockets at the lower front that are matched to the print, 4" side slits and coconut buttons down the front. The pants have elastic at the waist, in seam side pockets and 2-1/2" side slits at the knees. The tag in the pants reads "Kilauea Made in Hawaii"; the tag has been removed from the top. It is labeled as a size small, but it is more of a medium. It was too big for Emily (our mannequin), so we pinned it here and there to approximate how it should look when worn by someone of the correct size.
There are two small spots on the top that have been neatly mended where the fabric appears to have been frayed. One is in the middle of the back about 5" below the collar (just below the two red fish in the fabric close-up photo) and one is on the front just above the bottom buttonhole. These may have been flaws in the fabric
when it was made, as the rest of the garment appears in excellent unworn
condition. These are hardly noticeable and difficult to see.
