Here are fun hula routines for the holidays performed by Kealani and her Stars of the South Pacific. 13 unique Christmas choreographies (several using dance implements) are danced in 13 different holiday costumes by the late Kealani Davran and her students. Lots of innovative Christmas outfits range from elegant dresses to Santa hats to skirts decorated like Christmas trees. These are beginner-intermediate level routines and some are perfect for children. There are clear full length views of all the dancers for each entire routine. Kealani loved teaching and performing hula, and took great joy in sharing her routines with other dancers. Through this DVD her legacy of aloha continues.
Dances included: Mele Kalikimaka (uli uli), Christmas Luau (puili & uli uli), Christmas Island, Here Comes Santa in a Red Canoe, White Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear (candles), We Need a Little Christmas (puili), Silver Bells (wristlets of bells), Jingle Bells (uli uli), Deck the Halls (Tahitian-style otea), Silent Night (sitting, kneeling or standing) and Little Drummer Boy (ipu). (40 minutes)
(This was filmed in the late 1980's originally on VHS, so therefore it looks grainy by today's standards; amateur videography and sound of the era.)
